Kharis Courtney is a fiction writer based in south Louisiana. She has had short stories and poetry published in various sources, including the Infinite Press Literary Journal, where she received the September 2013 Editor's Choice Award for her short fiction piece, "Two and a Half Kids." She is currently seeking publication for her three completed novels.

Kharis enjoys gleaning ideas and motivation through traveling to unfamiliar places, but she finds the most inspiration in her hometown and the wide array of interesting characters only Louisiana can provide. While she writes a variety of genres, including fantasy, science fiction, and contemporary fiction, she consistently values truth in her works. She strives to create relatable characters, dialogue and scenes in every piece, whether the setting is a different world or the street she grew up on. When she isn't writing, she spends most of her time with her husband and two children. She also works as a graphic artist, creating stationery and other custom design pieces. Recreationally she enjoys playing music, refinishing antique furniture, and binge-watching television shows on Netflix.
